A trendy bathroom update

When the client took over their parents' house in Bærum, the 1976 bathroom was more than ready for an update. The result was a trendy bathroom with a spa feel - a touch more refined than the client had pictured themselves.

Ready for an update

The original bathroom came with a toilet, basin and bathtub in a bold shade of green, indeterminate wall panels and worn tiles that had cracked here and there. VBKU was recommended by good neighbours who had been very pleased with the work done for them.

One of our good neighbours recommended the contractor they had used and been really impressed by.- Homeowner, Bærum
A trendy bathroom update - Trendy won over all-white

Trendy won over all-white

Together with our interior architect, the client got to visualise the new bathroom - and an adjoining toilet that also received new tiles and bathroom furniture. The road there involved one friendly disagreement.

I had imagined an all-white bathroom with a hotel feel, while my wife wanted something more trendy with a bit of a spa feel. She was the one who won, of course.- Homeowner

Expert guidance on materials

Tiles, furniture and fixtures were chosen with close follow-up along the way. For the floors and walls, the choice landed on large 60×120 tiles with a marbled stone look.

We had a really good experience choosing the tiles, furniture and fixtures. Along the way we got expert guidance and plenty of good tips and advice.- Homeowner

Wood that breaks it up

Around the shower zone, a different tile was recommended - one with a wood look that breaks up the whole in a striking way. A choice the client is especially happy with in hindsight.

We ended up with some tiles that look like wood. They break up the impression in a really cool way.- Homeowner

A proper bathtub was on the wish list, and became one of the favourites in the finished room - perfect after a workout. The result gets plenty of praise, including from friends and neighbours.

The new bathroom didn't turn out quite the way I had pictured it, no. It turned out far nicer!- Homeowner
