When the family took over the detached house at Kjelsås, it came with an almost original bathroom from the 1970s. The result was a minimalist bathroom with a calm, natural feel - large 120×120 tiles, warm oak and a spa feeling in everyday life.

The family arrived at the design session with the interior architect with a clear idea of what they wanted. The final solution and design were found together.
We must have brought ten different sketches of how we pictured the new bathroom. But we arrived at the final solution and design together, and we are very pleased with it.- Homeowner, Kjelsås

The family had initially decided to use natural stone in the bathroom, but were advised against it because of the extra maintenance it tends to involve.
We wanted a bathroom with a calm, natural feel, and we got it with beautiful 120×120 tiles that bring to mind granite and slate. Large tiles mean fewer joints, which gives a more understated impression. To break it up a little, we chose bathroom furniture and a matching slatted wall in oak.- Homeowner

A large whirlpool bath and a modern shower toilet were also on the wish list for the dream bathroom.
When you didn't grow up with a bathtub yourself, having that option in everyday life gives a real sense of luxury. Otherwise, we're delighted that we chose such a large shower area with a rain shower; it also helps create the wonderful spa feeling we were after.- Homeowner
